Mr. Etornyo Agbeko is a Research Scientist at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research-Water Research Institute (CSIR-WRI) and a PhD candidate in Aquaculture and Environment. He holds MPhil. Degree in Fisheries Science from the Department of Marine and Fisheries Sciences of the University of Ghana (2011) and BSc in Agriculture Technology, Renewable Natural Resources option (Fisheries) from University for Development Studies (2006).

He was employed at the CSIR-Water Research Institute where he did his National Service in the Fisheries Division as an Assistant Research Scientist from 2007 to 2008. From July, 2011 till date was appointment as Research Scientist. He has practically trained and supervised many post-graduate and under-graduate students from various Universities and Institutions within Ghana and other parts of the World. He is an external examiner for some Institutions and reviewer for international peer-reviewed journals. Over the last five years, he has won various research grants from funding agencies including the CIDA, Canadian Hunger Foundation, DAI/UKAID, among others

He has served on a number of National and Local Technical Committees, including executive committee member for Ghana Forum for Agriculture Advisory Services and Support (GFAASS). Mr. Agbeko has co-ordinated and participated in various consultancy services to governmental and non-governmental agencies, companies, communities and private individuals in the areas of fish catch assessment, implementation of aquaculture projects, and production of Nile Tilapia and Catfish. Mr. Agbeko is responsible for the supervision of Technical Staff, Training of Students and Fish Farmers in sustainable aquaculture. He also conducts aquaculture experiments, field surveys, data collection, analysis and reporting of research findings through presentation at workshop, seminars, and/or in annual reports. He has published over 15 articles in local and international peer-reviewed journals. His current research area of interest is in aquatic eco-toxicology and sustainable aquaculture
