Dr. Frank Adu-Nti is a Research Scientist at the Biomedical and Public Health Research Unit of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research – Water Research Institute (CSIR-WRI). I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the University of Cape Coast in 2008, Master’s degree in Pharmacology in 2013 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and PhD in Neurobiology in 2021 at Shaanxi Normal University, China.
My research focus bridges areas of neuroscience and pharmacology. I use preclinical animal models to understand the behavioral, neural, and pharmacological factors contributing to animal behavior during development and in disease state and the underlining molecular mechanisms. Other empirical efforts focus on the discovery novel pharmacotherapy approaches from natural products for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, neurodevelopmental disorders, mood disorders and other central nervous system diseases. My studies span from molecular and biochemical processes to complex behavioral phenomena, related to the disorders listed above. The approaches include behavioral and molecular neuroscience and neuropharmacology/neurochemistry and I employ a variety of methods, including experimental, neurobehavioral, neuroimaging, neuropathological, and genetic methods in the analyses of behavioral and biological aspects of neurodevelopment, aging and other phenomena.
I have published over 10 peer-reviewed articles in international journals including Frontiers in Pharmacology, CNS Neuroscience and Therapeutics, Behavioral Neuroscience, Life Science, PloS One etc. I serve as a reviewer for Metabolic Brain Disease journal.
