The 54th meeting of the 7th Management Board of the CSIR-Water Research Institute was held on 17th March 2026 in the Institute’s Directors’ conference room.
The meeting was chaired by the Board chairman, Mr Anthony Boateng, who outlined the strategic direction that will guide the Institute’s operations and growth over the coming years. He introduced the “KLIDCo” framework, also known as “The BIG 5”, which set clear priorities for managing and sustaining the Institute.
Under the framework,
K – Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): The Institute will implement a strict monitoring and evaluation system to ensure all set targets are properly tracked and met.
L – Laboratory complex construction: Efforts will be intensified to resume construction of the new laboratory complex by the second quarter of 2026.
I – ISO Certification: The Institute will prioritise upgrading its laboratories to meet international standards by expediting the ISO certification process.
D – Digitalisation Drive: A comprehensive digital repository will be developed to archive all publications to enhance knowledge management.
Co – Commercialisation Drive: Strategies will be enhanced to boost Internally Generated Funds (IGF) through laboratory services, product sales, consultancies, training programmes, and efficient project delivery.
The Board affirmed its commitment to positioning the Institute as a leading centre of excellence in water research, innovation and service delivery.
